Description of the Cumberland 6512CR Clean Room Granulator

Many kinds of molding and injection manufacturing processes have to be done in clean room conditions. Whether because the products are for pharmaceutical, optical, electronic, or medical applications, it is often essential to be able to reduce and recycle material waste as in "inline" process. The Cumberland 6512CR Clean Room Granulator has been designed to meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) and clean room standards and provide dust free operation. The 6512CR functions with sprue, runner, and small part processes, and has options for low positioning in order to work with under press or conveyor applications. The infeed is outfitted with dual flaps to prevent any sort of debris or particulates from entering the production area and is a top feed design to accommodate multiple processes. There is also an option for hopper extension to allow for high-drop robot applications. The cutting chamber provides a 6.5" x 12" opening with a three blade open rotor featuring three steep angle knives. The 5 HP TEVC motor allows for optimal processing of plastics and the wear resistant chamber will keep maintenance and replacement costs under control. The cutting chamber features hardened bed knife blocks, the three blade open rotor with rotary side walls, top quality Astralloy end discs and bed knife clamps, and speeds of up to 201 RPM. The one piece reversible screen is also a cost effective feature and the operator choose from 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, or 5/8 openings.

Built with solid dowel and bolted construction, the machine features NEMA 12 control enclosure and is set on locking swivel casters mounted to the solidly designed base. This gives optimal workability for the unit and allows it to meet many needs. The clam shell design also provides ideal dust capture and control while allowing it to be easily cleaned or maintained without special tools to open the case or access moving parts. The 6512CR has an estimated throughput of around 150 pounds per hour and will discharge into the vacuum bin using the appropriate probe. In addition to its solid features, this machine also has some high quality options as well. Buyers can opt for a high base and larger vacuum with a valve sack discharge, a special rotor that uses a three-knife, wedge held, open, slant cut rotor with or without adjustable knives, and there is a full sound enclosure package too.
