Collection: Friction Feed Folders
Friction fed folding is the most popular feeding system for folding machines. Friction fed folders utilize a simple design, allowing rubber feed tires to manually pull the paper into the machine. The other type of feeding system available is "air-fed" or "vacuum-fed," which tends to be tremendously more expensive. Friction fed folders are the most popular, because they can do most simple jobs out there and are much less expensive than air-fed models. The limitation of friction fed models is glossy paper because it can cause the feed tires to slip on slicker paper surfaces. Some models can handle a light sheen, while other models work best with no sheen at all. If you'd like to make sure if a folding machine will work for your paper application, please give us a call, and one of our Folding Machine Specialists can assure you of the right model or even test your paper stock to insure a good fit!
