Description of the Ameri-Shred AMS-500 Strip Cut Industrial Shredder
Each model in Ameri-Shred's Series 1 for strip cut shredders look identical. However, each successive model offers more power, drive, and capacity. The Ameri Shred AMS-500 industrial shredder is the third largest in this series, offering a 5 HP motor. Capable of destroying a variety of materials, this heavy duty machine can tackle high volumes of paper, credit cards, CDs/DVDs, wastebasket materials, plastics, corrugated boxes, and so much more. Thanks to the especially wide 16" infeed conveyor, operators can continuously feed an array of materials into this shredder. For operating convenience, the operator may choose to install the optional output conveyor and bag holder.
With the Ameri-Shred AMS-500, capacity varies depending upon shred width. The 5 inch steel, paddle wheel crusher located in front of the precision ground A-2 steel cutters enables this shredder to destroy an incredible volume in a short amount of time. When shredding materials into 1/4" strips, the AMS-500 can handle between 450-650 lbs. each hour, while shredding into 5/16" strips, this unit powers through 600-800 lbs. per hour. For even higher volume shredding, this industrial unit produces 1/2" strips and tackles up to 950 lbs. every hour.

The AMS-500 weighs an enormous 1400 lbs., and offers 59" L x 36" W x 47.5" H dimensions. A machine this heavy would typically require serious man power to budge.
