The MVHD-1 passed NSA Evaluation by the Center for Storage Device Sanitization Research (CSDSR) for hard drive destruction with a rating of 90 one inch hard drives per hour. Whitaker Brothers has added a media chute ("C") to this unit for optimizing destroyed media collection. Though small in size, the MVHD-1C delivers 40,000 lbs. of force to its steel plates and can destroy cell phones and PDAs (in addition to hard drives ) in less than 30 seconds. The MVHD-1C's power is unmatched by other desktop destroyers of its size.

Its compact size is more appropriate for smaller office settings than its full size counterpart, the MVHD-2, making it unobtrusive and desktop friendly. With the convenient chute, debris is ejected into any disposal bin placed in front of the machine, allowing continuous operation without having to empty the collection drawer after every use. The MVHD-1C is conveniently sized, fully automatic, and renders data unrecoverable.
