This safety shield is a part of the standard Safety Protection System (SPS), which also includes automatic reverse and power cut-off features in case of a paper jam.

The strong "twin drive system" has a dust-proof gear enclosure to prevent rusting. Shred bags are not even a necessity with this shredder, as it provides a large and durable shred bin.
