Description of the Martin Yale SP100 Score and Perf Machine
This small machine has stand-alone capabilities for both scoring and perforating. If you need to create tickets, cards, business cards, etc., the SP100 can help you! Its perforating and scoring abilities are versatile, as there are adjustable scoring and perforating hubs and fully adjustable paper guides. This means you can score or perforate a wide variety of paper weights and widths, from 24 pound bond to 110 pound tag stock, and from 3 3/4 inches to 12 inches. The SP100's compact design makes it a perfect tool for your in-house, low volume business card production or other perforating needs.
A: It'll pull the paper through automatically. It does have a feeder and you can put a stack in and let it feed automatically. So the answer to your question is, "How fast can you feed it?"
Q: This may sound silly, but my husband and I send out 5500 custom sized postcards for billing for his company every 3 months. I'm wondering if this machine would be up to that challenge and if the perf is customizable enough for us.
A: For post cards I would recommend looking at one of the Martin Yale business card slitters, such as the Martin Yale BC10. These can be adjusted to do post cards. The SP100 is designed for perforation, not slitting.
Q: Hi, How many sheet at a time can this machine score or perforate?
A: The Martin Yale SP-100 has a feed tray that holds 5/8" high of paper stock. Additionally, it is possible to feed multiple sheets by making a slight adjustment to the intake. For the best results, we do recommend one sheet at a time.
Q: We are looking to bring our printing in house and we need a machine to perforate a legal size sheet, standard paper across. We print 80-120 per week. Can this machine handle that volume?
A: 80-120 pieces per week shouldn't be a problem for the SP100 running standard paper weights. Just know that it is a hand-fed unit and look closely at the specifications to make sure it'll handle any additional paper weights you want to run.
Q: I am interested in a perforator that can be used for credential cards (Identification Cards) - to enable law enforcement officers to have the word "RETIRED" perforated into the card so they can keep their credentials in a shadow box.
A: For an application like this you'll need a perforator like the American Perforator 400. The Intimus SP100 is designed to perforate straight lines across a piece of paper to make it easier to tear off. But it is not capable of applying a custom message.
How fine of a perforation can this unit perforate?
The equipment comes standard with a 14-tooth perforating wheel. That's on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to perforation density, but it is certainly adequate for a lot of application.
