Description of the Cumberland 72B Central Granulator (B Series)
Cumberland offers a complete line of trusted granulators, and their B Series Granulators are some of the most rugged available. As central granulators, the B Series provides ongoing processing and reclamation of some of the most heavy duty materials in the industry, such as x-ray films, bailed bottles, thick sheeting, and even extruded rejects and parts. The Cumberland 72B Central Granulator is the largest of the series and takes in materials through its massive 20" x 72" throat. Everything is processed by the hefty 200HP motor that works with a heavy duty flywheel and outboard bearings to guarantee efficiency and optimal reclamation. The entire unit is constructed with heavy duty performance in mind. The frame, rotor, and cutting chamber are made from steel, and the interior is machined for optimal smoothness in order to avoid creating friction and to allow materials to flow. All of these features also prevent wasting energy, even through continuous use.
The rotors feature an open three knife (high shear) array, and the bed also has two similar HCHC blades. These work together effectively as materials pass through the screen into the enormous 12" airveyor discharge chute. The Cumberland 72B Central Granulator has an impressive 5000 pounds per hour throughput, and yet the system can still be improved through the use of some standard options. The Cumberland 72B central granulator can be equipped with a 250HP motor or a larger screen if desired. Other options include a larger 14" discharge chute, a blower, separator, or cyclone, factory-installed controls, raised bed knives, and five blades mounted to the rotor. The unit can also utilize water cooling and air purge bearings if polymer melt and smearing is a concern.
Maintaining the machine is a very simple process as well, thanks to the end removable screen, the smoothly machined interior, and the outboard bearings that eliminate any risk of contamination. When you have to continually reclaim or grind heavy duty and problematic materials, you need a heavy duty solution. The Cumberland 72B Central Granulator will deliver years of strong performance and efficient results, and it is one of the top choices for any setting that needs safety and reliability.
